Quick and Easy Dollar Store Succulents

After busting my butt to complete my living room plank wall, I was craving a quick and easy craft project. As much as I love breaking out the saw and nail gun, there's nothing more relaxing and satisfying than painting and creating a simple craft, especially when it uses Dollar Store items.

I cannot keep a plant alive to save my life, so when I spotted faux succulents at the Dollar Store I knew they had to come home with me. They're perfect for adding a touch of green without worrying about watering and leaves turning brown in a few weeks.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Faux Succulents
Chalk paint
Quilted ball jelly jars (similar)
Sandpaper/paint brush

I started by painting a few coats of Martha Stewart chalk paint on each jar and giving them a light sanding.

I cut out the Styrofoam from the plastic pot and lucky for me it fit perfectly into the glass jar.

Okay, now who's heading out to their local Dollar Store to pick up some succulents? I actually went back a second time and bought a few more for a Spring Wreath that I'll be sharing later in the week.

I have a small pot that I have been trying to decide if I want to put a real or fake plant in. Seeing yours is making me think fake is the way to go. So cute!

So cute! I've got to get back to the Dollar store, last time I was there I didn't see these!! I'd much rather make these cute cheap ones then buy real ones that'd probably die! ;)

Hmmmm, wonder if our $tree had these already as I was in both of them couple times last week but no see no cute little succulents, doggone it. Would love to make a wreath using them. Look forward to seeing how you made your wreath with them. We have Family $ and $general also but no succulents so far.

I found one by accident in a wrong aisle. But it reminded me that you can go to the Dollar Store web page and order there. The orders are by large quantities. srpprcrftr....they sell them in a group of 25, which would work for your wreath.
