A beautiful and classic modern farmhouse decorated Christmas home tour.
Who's up for a little Christmas home tour? I've joined Jenna from Wife in Progress and many other talented bloggers for a holiday home tour blog hop full of beautiful Christmas inspiration. If you are stopping by from Aratari At Home, welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the tour.
Before I get to all the pretty pictures, I feel like I need to confess. I haven't done laundry in days, gymnastics mats lay in the middle of the living room floor, there's a broken toilet paper holder in the hall bathroom, Christmas bins are still in the dining room, the sink is full of dishes and there are random slain dog toys laying around that the puppy decided to shred. Our house is very much lived in with two active kids and one very rambunctious puppy. There just isn't enough time in the day to do it all. So if you are reading this and think I have it all together, I don't. Now that that's out of the way, let's get on to the pretty pictures where I can pretend that my house is perfectly neat and tidy.
I shared our decorated entryway the other week, but since it's my favorite area to decorate I couldn't leave it out of the holiday tour.
I know a lot of bloggers are sharing perfectly decorated trees with every ornament meticulously placed, but I wanted to share our perfect tree. Decorated by our kids with many of their handmade and special ornaments (including a treasured claw machine star). It may not be magazine worthy, but it's beautiful and perfect and full of memories and I wouldn't have it any other way.
We eat meals at our dining room table and it's also a place for homework, so I kept things simple and filled a wooden tray with a few of my grandmothers vintage ornaments and some faux greenery.
Metal Tobacco Basket / Wooden Beaded Handle Tray / Bicycle Pillow (Target Dollar Spot)
The DIY wood bead garland and Dollar Tree bottle brush ornament that I made this year are great additions to the vintage scale that I recently found from a local vintage market. I kind of wish I could keep them out all year long.
This is the first year I decorated my daughter's room and I had so much fun picking out bright and colorful decor for her room. It was the perfect place to have fun and display a few more of my grandmother's colorful ornaments.
Our recently added mudroom is another place that I love decorating for the seasons. I kept things simple with a few touches of red, including an easy burlap sack that I turned into artwork.
Wall Storage and Coat Rack / DIY Tufted Leather Bench / DIY Christmas Wall Art / Hello Word Art / Rug
This is by far my favorite time of year and I wish I could keep the twinkling lights and pops of red out all year long. Unfortunately, the tree will come down, the smell of fresh pine will go away and my home will go back to it's neutral modern farmhouse state. Until then, I'm going to soak up and enjoy every last bit of this holiday season.
Before you go, be sure to check out the lovely holiday tour from Twelve on Main and the rest of the amazingly talented bloggers.

Love everything! Looks so festive and warm. Beautiful. Quick question - are your windows standard wooden frames that you have painted black? They are amazing.
