If you have been reading blogs for any length of time than you may be familiar with the One Room Challenge (ORC), hosted by Calling it Home. Twice a year bloggers remodel, renovate or makeover a space in six short weeks all while documenting their progress along the way.
This is my first year taking on the "challenge" and I am super excited to be renovating our tiny basement bathroom. I'll be joining a bit of vintage and modern styles to create a beautiful black and white bathroom. Are you ready to see the plans?
This bathroom was actually completely gutted, moved and remodeled less than 10 years ago, but my style has definetely changed over the years. I still love the orange (Sherwin-William Jalapeño), but it's time for it to go. I'll be keeping a few key pieces, including the pedestal sink, toilet and faucet, but the rest will all be replaced.
My inspiration for this makeover came from this beautiful bathroom from Begining in the Middle.
Isn't it amazing?
As soon as I saw Home Depot carried this gorgeous Merola tile I knew I had to have it in our bathroom. My husband isn't too keen on the idea of me ripping up perfectly good tile, but can you blame me?
I have always been a fan of Schoolhouse Electric and I couldn't be more thrilled to be working with them on this makeover. I'll be using the Abrahams Double Sconce in natural brass with glass globes. Isn't it gorgeous?
I've added many different wall treatments to our home including a plank wall in our entryway and basement as well as board and batten in our dining room and Paige's room. I haven't decided if I'm going to plank the bathroom walls or add some other type of wall treatment. I'm kind of leaning towards this reverse shiplap for something different.
I'm LOVING this aged brass towel bar, but if I find something more affordable I'll probably nix this one. We'll have to see how the budget plays out.
I planned on using this metal pharmacy mirror from Target, but when I went back to actually purchase the mirror it was unavailable. NOOOO!!!!! After a quick search I was lucky enough to find another mirror that I actually liked a little better. Unfortunately, it's not black, but that's nothing a little spray paint can't fix.
You know I like affordable Turkish towels, so I couldn't resist adding one to our bathroom makeover.
I bought our current bathroom faucet about eight years ago from Home Depot Expo (do you remember that store???) and since it's in great shape and I still love it, it will remain.
I think that about sums up our Vintage Modern bathroom makeover. I'm so excited to get started and share our progress along the way!
A huge thank you to Schoolhouse Electric for providing product for this makeover.
