Painting your interior doors dark can instantly add contrast and style for an easy and affordable update! When it comes to home decor there's one design element I can't get enough of. From crisp white plank walls against painted dark wood furniture to dark gray doors paired with bright white trim. Contrast is one design element I love and crave in my home. The best part is, contrast can be achieved with little effort and expense. Over the past few years, I've been craving contrast in my home and have been slowly painting our interior doors my favorite charcoal gray (Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore). Almost all our upstairs entry doors have been painted and just this past weekend I finished painting the french doors in our basement. ...

Beautiful Tiny Homes: Pros and Cons of Living in a Tiny Home
Love them or hate them, tiny houses are all the rage these days. Scaling down, minimizing and cutting back have a tremendous appeal to those who want to live a simpler, less expensive lifestyle. I happen to love tiny homes and are always impressed with the amount of amenities and style that can be packed into a 300-500 square foot home. I don't think I could live in one as a family of four, but how cool would it be to have one to use for traveling or a retirement home? Tiny Home Living ...

How to Make Inexpensive Pillar Candle Holders
Happy Monday! You may have noticed the lack of posting and bit of radio silence on the blog the past few weeks. Things have been a bit slower around here since I've been trying to work out in the evenings and go to bed early. There's also the fact that a little 13 week old pup is demanding the majority of my time and attention. I wouldn't have it any other way, but adjusting to our new routine is something I'm still trying to figure out. There's little time for shopping, decorating and DIY, but I was able to sneak in a DIY project that's been on my To-Do list for months. ...

Stylish and Affordable Black and White Outdoor Decor
Happy Monday! I hope all you mama's out there had a fabulous Mother's Day full of pampering and relaxation. We took a road trip this weekend to pick up a new addition then spent Mother's Day enjoying and loving on her. She's a 12 week old Golden Retriever and we couldn't love her more. Thankfully, we had beautiful weather on Sunday and were able to spend most of the day outside with family and our new puppy. Unfortunately, hanging out on our deck made me realize just how much attention it desperately needs. From sun bleached cushions to rusted furniture, our outdoor living situation needs a lot of love. So, this is the year that I'll finally give it the attention it deserves and turn it into a relaxing space for our family to enjoy. Affiliate links have been used. Dollar Store DIY: Easy 5 Minute Farmhouse Towels
It's the first of May AND Monday, which means it's time for another Dollar Store DIY! I have to admit, May snuck up so quick that I almost forgot to create a new project. Thank goodness I have a stash of Dollar Tree supplies and could whip up a quick and easy project. These adorable farmhouse towels take less than 5 minutes to make and only require two supplies, both of which can be bought at the Dollar Tree. The lace adds a nice farmhouse touch and I promise, even if you have minimal sewing skills you can make these towels. ...
