An easy and festive wood bead garland perfect for adding a touch of red and green to your Christmas decor.
Do you remember the wood bead tassel garland I made earlier this year? It's one of my favorite DIY decor pieces and I use it all year long. It's what inspired me (along with my favorite wool garland and many beautiful Christmas garlands at Michael's and Hobby Lobby) to make a holiday version perfect for adding a touch of red and green to our home.

I started by making the tassels for the ends of the garland. I used the same method that I used when making my previous wood bead garland.
After my tassels were done I started painting the wood beads. I decided to paint the larger round beads white and two shades of red and the medium size beads green. I left the square beads and the smaller beads their natural color. You can keep the square beads as is or if you want a more softer look you can sand the edges like I did.
Once I had the beads painted and sanded I attached a tassel to one end of a piece of jute and started stringing the beads in no particular order. When I was happy with the length of the garland I finished it off with another jute tassel. (I made mine about 4 feet, but you can make yours as long or as short as you would like)
I had fun playing around with the garland and eventually moved it into our bedroom to add a pop of color for the holidays.
I might not be able to display this wood bead garland all year, but I love the pop of red and green that it adds to my holiday decor.
Beautiful! I hope I can make one this year!
