Dollar Tree pint jar ornaments are filled with mini bottle brush trees for the perfect vintage inspired Christmas decor.
A few weeks ago, while on one of my many Dollar Tree runs, I came across the cutest little plastic pint size ornaments. I imagined them filled with miniature bottle brush trees and turned into adorable vintage inspired ornaments, perfect for hanging on a tree or displaying as decor.
Lately, I've been using a technique of mixing paint mediums to create an aged look and it was just what these basic plastic ornaments needed.

- Pint Jar Ornaments (Dollar Tree)
- Brushed Pewter metallic craft paint
- Small bottle brush trees (I bought mine from the Target Dollar spot)
- Hot glue gun
Dollar Tree has a ton of round plastic ornaments, but the pint jars are a little harder to find. Unfortunately, they no longer carry them online and not every location has them in stock. You may have to check a few different stores and definetely stock up if you find them.
I bought the mini bottle brush trees from Target's Dollar Spot and now I'm kicking myself for not getting more! This is another item that is perfect to have on hand for many different Holiday projects.
You can certainly leave the lid and ornament top as is, but since I wanted a more vintage look I spray painted both with my favorite ORB spray paint.
After the spray paint was dry I aged the lid and top of the ornament using the same technique I used for the Dollar Tree vintage inspired ornament jars. Basically, it's a combination of Gold Leaf Rub 'n Buff and Brushed Pewter metallic craft paint.I filled the lid with fake snow then added 3 mini bottle brush trees. I found it worked best if I added hot glue to the bottom of the lid then added the snow over the glue.
When I was happy with the placement of the trees I added the top of the ornament to the pint jar then screwed on the lid. I wanted a bit of color and contrast, so I added red and white baker's twine for hanging.
(The little Mercury truck was bought at Walmart last year and the vintage scale is from a local vintage market)
Aren't they the cutest?
Not only would these inexpensive vintage inspired bottle brush ornaments make a great ornament (or holiday party favor), but I also really enjoy having mine displayed as Christmas decor.
These are really cute, Katie. Thank you so much for sharing your creation. Of course, I now have to go to our local Dollar Tree. Happy Thanksgiving, Ardith
