Neutral decor and fresh greenery make a beautiful combination for the perfect modern farmhouse Christmas mantel.
I added lots of red to our Christmas mantel last year, but kept things simple and went neutral this year with fresh greenery, cute miniature houses and new knit stockings. I love the simplicity, especially since upstairs is filled with beautiful touches of red.
I added a few Christmas touches to my favorite mixed material bookcase, but keeping things neutral allowed me to leave out most of the everyday decor.
We keep our fresh Christmas tree upstairs, so having the smell of fresh cut pine in our basement is a nice welcome when we walk downstairs. Now we can enjoy the smell of the season all throughout our home.
If only it were acceptable to keep fresh pine and stockings hung by the fireplace all year long.
How do you decorate for the holiday's? Do you like to keep things neutral or do you opt to add pops of color with traditional red and green?
