Turn a multi-drawer dresser into a vintage-inspired faux apothecary cabinet! It's no surprise that I love turning dressers into vintage-inspired apothecary cabinets or card catalogs. Nothing beats the real deal , but when that's not possible, creating your own is the next best thing. I'm always on the hunt for affordable furniture that can be easily updated with paint and hardware and lucky for me, I recently found another perfect project piece. This little chest was just screaming for a super quick apothecary-inspired makeover! It had great bones, dovetail drawers and needed very minimal repairs. ...

Simple and Neutral Christmas Home Tour
A super simple and neutral vintage Scandi inspired Christmas home tour! Hello, welcome to my simple Christmas home tour! I normally go all out with holiday decorating, but definitely toned it down this year and I'm not mad about that in the least bit. The house is festive, yet neutral enough to transition to winter and simple enough to not feel cluttered. I only brought out my favorite Christmas decor then splurged on a few new pieces that I can use year after year. I hope you enjoy the simplicity as much as I do! ...

Walmart Christmas Decor: Vintage-Inspired Hanging Bells
Inexpensive hanging bells get a simple vintage-inspired makeover! As much as I prefer not to be in Walmart every other day, I'm in Walmart every other day haha. It never fails. I ask the kids what they need, I go to the store then the next day they need something else. The plus side of taking a ridiculous amount of unnecessary trips to Walmart is being able to check out their holiday decor. I'm usually able to control myself, but some items are just too good to pass up, like hanging bells. I was eyeing similar bells weeks ago, but they are super popular now and sold out before I could snag a set for myself. I ended up grabbing a set from Walmart and giving them a little vintage-inspired makeover to fit more with my vintage Scandi Christmas decor. ...

Vintage Modern Christmas Mudroom
A little modern, a little vintage and a little Scandi! A vintage modern mudroom gets decorated for Christmas with a minimal vintage Scandi vibe. Let's be honest, our house has been decorated for Christmas for weeks, but now that Thanksgiving has passed it's officially ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS! I'm not a lover of red, so I kept red to a minimum (only in the kitchen) and went with a more vintage Scandi Christmas vibe in the rest of the house. The neutral minimal decor not only looks greats but will also transition beautifully from Christmas to winter. The mudroom is probably my favorite room in the house and is filled with some of my favorite vintage finds. It's also my favorite room to decorate, especially at Christmastime. ...

Modern Farmhouse Bassett Desk Makeover
A dated Bassett desk gets a fresh modern farmhouse makeover with paint and new hardware! This girl has not only been cranking out furniture makeovers but has also found time to blog about them. What is going on? haha Last week, I shared a simple drop leaf side table makeover and since I had paint and bin pulls leftover I decided to create the same look on a dated Bassett desk. I got kind of lucky finding this desk as it has been incredibly difficult to find good quality desks lately. It definitely wasn't my style, but I knew I could give it a modern farmhouse makeover with minimal cost and effort. ...

Drop Leaf Table Makeover: Before and After
Dated drop leaf tables get a vintage modern makeover with new paint and hardware! First off, I want to apologize. If you follow me on Instagram then you may be expecting to see my vintage Christmas decorated kitchen. In my defense, I had all intentions of sharing my decorated kitchen, but last-minute sales at my vintage booth at Sweet Clover Barn derailed m y plans and threw me into "furniture makeover" overdrive. I can't even remember the last time I shared a furniture makeover , but this quick and easy drop leaf side table makeover was too good not to share. Drop leaf tables aren't my style, but they are pretty common and easy to find at auctions, estate sales or on Facebook Marketplace (it can be harder to find matching tables at thrift stores). They are also super easy to update and transform from drab and dated to stylish and modern. ...

Budget-friendly Halloween decorating ideas to create the perfect spooky Halloween home for less. It's October, which means it's Halloween month! I actually started decorating for Halloween weeks ago, but now it's officially appropriate to have cobwebs, bats, skeletons and a few creepy dolls on full display. Create a beautiful home with unique vintage and handmade decor from these amazing and talented ETSY shops! It should be no surprise that I love shopping and filling my home with unique vintage decor. Before and after bright white kitchen reveal. A small ranch style home gets a major open floor plan kitchen, mudroom and dining room makeover. Well friends, today is FINALLY the day I share all the before, during and "after" pictures of our bright white, open floor plan kitchen renovation! There are still a few minor details to complete, but considering it may be a bit until I get the custom black walnut shelves, decide on lights for above the window and order the correct microwave, I thought I'd go ahead and share the "reveal" now. ...

Vintage Picking in Ohio and Pennsylvania: Tips, Tricks and Must Hit Spots
Save money, find the best deals and plan a successful vintage picking trip with these tips and must hit spots in Ohio and Pennsylvania! The other weekend, myself and two of my favorite vintage loving friends headed out on a four day picking trip through Ohio and Pennsylvania. We researched, planned and made hotel and rental truck reservations, but the rest of the trip was full of spur of the moment adventures. We hit a couple bumps along the way like roaches in our first rental truck, making many wrong turns and showing up at closed stores, but we found some great shops, snagged some awesome deals and had an absolute blast treasure hunting. ...

Bright White Modern Farmhouse Dining Room
Bright white walls and dark accents come together to create a beautiful neutral modern farmhouse dining room! Guess who finally caulked, sanded, and painted the dining room? Yup, this girl! I've lacked some serious motivation lately, but a kick in the pants gave me the drive to get things done and focus on my goals. I'm now more motivated than ever, so I busted out my caulk gun and paintbrush and finally finished the dining room. It now has the perfect neutral modern farmhouse vibe that flows with the rest of the house. I had all intentions of simply repainting the room Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige, but I was never 100% happy with how the color looked in the dining room. The natural light gave the paint a pink hue and had to go. ...

Before and After Second-Hand Furniture Makeovers
Second-hand furniture gets restored, updated and transformed with paint and hardware! Hey, hey! Lately, house projects have been few and far between, but I've still been keeping busy transforming and updating furniture. Oddly enough, I find restoring and painting furniture super relaxing and thankfully, I've had plenty of pieces to keep me busy. Even though I haven't been documenting much of the transformation process, I still wanted to share a few recent furniture makeovers I've completed for my vintage booth at Sweet Clover Barn . ...

How to Make Paint Look Like Concrete
The most inexpensive and easiest way to paint anything to look like concrete! It's been MONTHS since I shared a Dollar Store DIY , but today I'm back sharing a simple budget-friendly craft. How to paint plastic to look like concrete! I love a good Dollar Tree makeover , so when I saw a variety of plastic planters at my local store I knew right away I wanted to give them a concrete inspired makeover. With just a few simple supplies (that I had on hand!) I was able to give plastic planters the perfect faux concrete look. ...

Friday Favorites: Affordable Modern Farmhouse Amazon Finds
Affordable and neutral modern farmhouse decor from Amazon! Thank goodness for Amazon Prime during these crazy times when shopping is limited and going to stores is less than ideal. It feels like the FedEx truck is dropping something off every other day and I'm not sure who gets more excited, me or the dog. Ellie has quickly learned that our driver comes armed with dog bones and is on her way to the truck before it even stops. I've been trying to keep my purchases on the "essential" side, but let's be honest, it's way too easy to get sidetracked and start browsing modern farmhouse home decor items. ...

A simple way to turn a dated dresser into an industrial inspired multi-drawer chest. I'm always on the hunt for smaller scale, solid wood dressers. I love the versatility of smaller scale pieces and the opportunity to get creative with mixing hardware paint and stain. ...

Friday Favorites: Stylish Kitchen Shelf Decor
Beautiful home decor to perfectly style open kitchen shelves! Happy Friday, friends. The kitchen backsplash was FINALLY installed this week and it looks so good! Unfortunately, the tile I wanted was out of stock, which held up progress, but it's installed and was totally worth the wait. Of course, now that the tile is complete I've been searching online for new decor to style the open shelves. I went with floating shelf brackets from Shelfology , but the shelves themselves are being custom cut out of black walnut. ...

DIY Vintage Letterpress Keychains
Repurpose vintage letterpress letters into cool and unique keychains! There are a handful of items I like to keep an eye out for when auctioning and vintage letterpress letters are one of them. 80's Dresser Turned Distressed Chest
Transform and modernize a dated 80's dresser into the perfect distressed chest! Are you starting to notice a theme with my recent furniture makeovers? I'm kind of obsessed with transforming and modernizing dated 80's dressers . I love painting MCM furniture , but being able to build, transform and update unwanted or dated furniture is something that truly makes me happy. Oddly enough, I actually find painting and updating furniture relaxing and incredibly rewarding. It's one of my favorite ways to relieve stress, so the more furniture I can redo the better. Just recently, I found a small dated dresser on Facebook Marketplace that needed a little updating. The curved base and batwing hardware drastically dated the dresser, but it wasn't anything a little wood, paint and new hardware couldn't fix. ...

Quick and Easy Side Table Makeover
An easy way to update an inexpensive and dated wood and metal side table. Yesterday, I ran to Sweet Clover Barn to finish up a few things then swung in Goodwill on my way home. I wasn't too optimistic about finding furniture, but you never know what you'll find unless you stop and look, right? Unfortunately, there were no good dressers, but I did find a little wood side table that had potential. It was the perfect project piece that I knew I could knock out quickly. I started working on the table as soon as I got home and was able to give it an update, take pictures and finish the blog post in just a few hours. The makeover was super quick, easy and affordable, which is my favorite kind of project. ...

Let's Go Thrifting: Recent Auction and Thrift Store Finds
Thrifting and picking for unique vintage decor. Oh hey, remember me? I've been a bad blogger. Lately, my days have been spent picking up furniture, hunting for new thrift stores and traveling to spend hours upon hours at auctions. I've been so busy thrifting, picking and painting furniture that I haven't had time to work on or document a single DIY project. I'm not complaining. Thrifting and picking are what I love, but unfortunately, it leaves little time for house projects and blogging. I know thrifting may not interest everyone, but I love hunting for deals and wanted to share a few of my favorite thrift store and auction finds and purchases. ...
