A little modern, a little vintage and a little Scandi! A vintage modern mudroom gets decorated for Christmas with a minimal vintage Scandi vibe.
Let's be honest, our house has been decorated for Christmas for weeks, but now that Thanksgiving has passed it's officially ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS!
I'm not a lover of red, so I kept red to a minimum (only in the kitchen) and went with a more vintage Scandi Christmas vibe in the rest of the house. The neutral minimal decor not only looks greats but will also transition beautifully from Christmas to winter.
The mudroom is probably my favorite room in the house and is filled with some of my favorite vintage finds. It's also my favorite room to decorate, especially at Christmastime.
A few simple changes, like replacing the Work Hard and Be Nice to People Print and large glass jar and greenery with a tree farm sign, vintage crock and real Christmas tree were subtle yet added just enough of a vintage Scandi vibe that I was going for.
Faux greenery was my friend in the rest of the mudroom. I added a few pieces to the modern black mirror and throughout the rest of the room.
***TIP*** I pull apart THIS large greenery stem and use them throughout the house. The smaller stems are perfect for placing in vases, above mirrors/wall decor and adding a touch of green to smaller table vignettes.
Every year I look forward to displaying the black tree farm sign (bought from Sweet Clover Barn) and vintage sleigh bells (an auction score). I've had them both for years and they are still some of my favorite Christmas pieces.
***TIP*** Keep an eye out for green books and white ice skates at thrift stores, flea markets and yard sales. They are super affordable, easy to come by and are perfect for holiday decorating.
I even decorated the top of the Lyon Lockers with a few bottle brush trees and a couple of my favorite cute vintage deer.
The changes were simple, affordable and kept with the vintage modern style of the mudroom while also adding a touch of Scandi Christmas to the space.
I get most of my decor from auctions, thrift stores and shopping locally, but I also wanted to provide you with similar decor options if you love the vintage scandi Christmas look.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your vintage modern christmas mudroom. Perfect! Love all of your details. Wondering where you found the black wall hanging of the manager scene? Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you so much! It was purchased from Hobby Lobby this year. It looks like it's sold out online, but they may still have some in stores.
