I've never been a fan of winter.
It's wet, it's cold, it's dark and it always makes me feel a little down and a bit unproductive. Does anyone else feel this way? I surely can't be the only one.
So, after I packed away the Christmas decor, I took the opportunity to boost my mood (and a break from working on Paige's new room) and did a little modern mudroom refresh. I mean, what better way to improve your mood than a little styling and decorating?
I could have left out winter greenery and decor, but I was ready to bring out my brighter everyday greenery and make a few modern changes.
I love buying items for my home that I can rotate from room to room, so I did a little pillow swap and ordered a fun new black modern bench from Walmart Home. Walmart has come such a long way and is a great source for affordable modern decor, especially their online selection. I ordered my bench and within two days it was on my front doorstep. Talk about fast shipping!
It was such a simple update and if I want to go back to more of a vintage industrial look then I can bring back my vintage wood theatre seats (yes, I still have them!).
For right now though, the clean lines, extra plants and simple modern updates make me happy, so they will stay for a bit.
