Add a bit of fun and snark to your indoor plants with these DIY funny plant markers!
Who's up for a super easy Dollar Tree craft project?
It's been quite a while since I've created a Dollar Tree project, so I decided to stop into Dollar Tree to see what I could find.
The other week, I potted a few Pothos plants that I had been propagating in water and divided a Chinese Money Plant that sprouted a few new baby plants.
I've been keeping an eye on them, so naturally, when I stopped into Dollar Tree I had plants on my mind and grabbed a Tumbling Tower game to make funny plant markers.

HOW TO MAKE FUNNY PLANT MARKERS
Warning: I apologize in advance if any of the labels come off offensive. I like snark and sarcasm, so I designed the labels accordingly.
Let me start by saying, if you want to replicate this project then you'll want to run to your nearest Dollar Tree and grab a Tumbling Tower Game before they're gone. I've been doing Dollar Tree projects for years and these tower games tend to only be in stock during Easter and Christmas.
The little blocks are perfect for crafting, so even if you don't make these DIY plant markers, you'll want to grab a game or two for future crafts.
STEP ONE:
Print out funny plant sayings printable on thick cardstock. Simply click on the image below, save and print!
Regular printer paper will work, but you will get better results if you use higher quality cardstock.
***Please note, tags are for personal use only. ***
STEP TWO:
Cut out the plant tags that you would like to use for your plant markers.
I designed the tags to be smaller than the wood pieces so they would have a small white border and also allow some of the wood to show. If you prefer not to see the wood on the front of the plant makers then simply cut your tags slightly larger.
STEP THREE:
Attach plant tags to the wood pieces using a small craft brush and Mod Podge.
STEP FOUR:
After the Mod Podge is dry, use a drill and a small drill bit (the same size as the wood skewers) to drill a 1/4" deep hole in the bottom center of each piece of wood. Be sure not to drill too far or you will drill through the top of the wood.
STEP FIVE:
Apply Mod Podge to the top of the wood skewers then insert skewers into the holes that were previously drilled. Let the glue dry then coat the entire wood plant marker with Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge. Dishwasher safe Mod Podge is a water-based sealer and will help protect the plant markers from water.
These are great!
