Let's Go Thrifting: Thrift Store Finds Vol 10

A curated collection of vintage furniture and decor from auctions, Facebook Marketplace, and thrift stores!

I've been hitting the thrift stores hard in preparation for the Lucketts Fall Market and it's been paying off!

My local Goodwill is hit or miss, so I often travel out of my county to go thrifting. I won't complain though, the thrift stores I visit are in older towns and I usually walk out with great finds!

I thrift often, arrive when the stores open, and follow my 18 favorite thrifting tips and tricks to increase my chances of finding the best deals!

This will be a heavy picture post, so get comfortable, and let's go thrifting!

First, I wanted to share a couple of auction finds I remembered to take pictures of.

I've been hunting and collecting antique convex federal mirrors and have been fortunate to find four great ones. Two large wood mirrors and two smaller syroco and metal mirrors.

I also snagged a large collection of vintage cameras, suitcases, wool blankets, paint-by-number art, and other random vintage items.

I don't decorate with ironstone and don't intentionally look for it while thrifting, however, I will buy it if I find a great piece for a good price.

I've encountered at least four large ironstone pitchers for less than $5 a piece! There was no way I was leaving those behind.

Vintage pottery and brass are always at the top of my thrifting list. You can never have too many vintage brass candleholders, planters, and animals.

This brass bird was huge and incredible, but a little too pricey for my cheap budget. I did find many other great brass pieces, including candleholders, duck bookends, a cricket, and the most amazing owl statue.

Over the past few months, I collected affordable vintage tennis rackets for a cool display project. You can find these old rackets in almost any thrift store, but finding inexpensive ones is a little more difficult.

I've also been on the hunt for vintage wool blankets and sweaters. Rummaging through bins and flipping through clothing racks takes extra time, but I've found some great vintage textiles.

Pendleton and Hudson Bay wool blankets may be more popular and sought after, but nothing beats a handcrafted vintage wool blanket. I love the thickness and texture of this cream blanket I thrifted last month.

Generally, I buy secondhand furniture from auctions or Facebook Marketplace rather than thrift stores. Sadly, I don't encounter quality affordable furniture at thrift stores like I used to.

I was lucky enough to find some great baskets, an amazing $15 Mid-Century Modern credenza, and a pair of four antique chairs that were 50% off.

The deal of the year goes to this leather Chesterfield sofa that I randomly passed one mile from my home! It'll be as good as new after an extensive wipe-down and conditioning.

I shop all seasons year long and have been heavily hunting fall and holiday decor. Vintage owls, squirrels, Santa's, and deer have been at the top of my list.
