How I used thrifted vintage holiday decor to decorate my home for the holidays!
The best way to find and score deals on vintage holiday decor is to thrift and shop for it all year long.
I scour thrift stores, church flea markets, yard sales, auctions, and Facebook Marketplace looking for everything from vintage brass deer to handmade knitted wool blankets. Nothing is off-limits that catches my eye!
Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite recent thrifted vintage holiday decor finds and how I styled them in my home for the holidays!
All the vintage holiday decor was purchased over the past year from church holiday bazaars or thrift stores except for a Campfire Marshmellow tin, which was an auction find.
Church bazaars are the best place to find inexpensive vintage holiday decor. All the items below were bought for $9.50 from one local church sale. I strung the candle lights on my dining room tree and I love the additional vintage vibe they add.
I found these adorable vintage Santa and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers bagged together on a shelf at Goodwill for $1.99. I've seen many different styles of Santa and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers but these are by far my favorite.
It's rare to find vintage Santa mugs in the wild, but they can be found. I scored a handful of mugs this year for less than $2.00/piece and two incredible vintage pitchers for $3.49/piece.
Thrift Store prices have been rising and vintage blow molds are no exception. Many of the ones I find are more than I would charge, but sometimes a good deal can be found.
My favorite brass deer thrift find of the year was a large trio of brass deer. I could not believe the price when I saw it was $7.99!

As I mentioned, the vintage Campfire Marshmellow tin was not a thrift find, but I've always wanted one and had to include it in today's post. I scored it from a local auction for a very reasonable price.
Along with vintage seasonal decor, I also like to incorporate everyday vintage items into my holiday decorating.
VINTAGE ITEMS TO INCORPORATE INTO HOLIDAY DECORATING:
- Flower Frogs: Use flower frogs to display vintage Christmas cards, numbers, or photos.
- Vintage Bingo Cards: Incorporate them into holiday vignettes and displays.
- Glass Jars: Fill with vintage ornaments or antique sleigh bells.
- Register Flags: Number .25 makes a great addition to planters and cloche displays.
- Vintage Glass Cloches: Great for creating holiday displays using Santa mugs, small trees, bells, etc.
- Old Books: Use books to ground decor and/or add height to decor items,.
- Old Number Cards: Add small number cards to flower frogs or use larger numbers on open shelves or bookcase displays.

The bowls on the shelves are used daily, so the shelves are a mix of style and function. I swapped out a basic black planter with a vintage Santa and mixed in real touch Norfolk Pine greenery with my everyday house plants.

Vintage numbers and .25 register flags were a fun additional pop of red and a nod to Christmas!
I kept the corner of the kitchen next to the pantry neutral with a collection of white vintage Santa mugs and the brass deer wall hanging I picked up a few months ago.
I continued with the neutral decor in the entryway where I used my favorite antique snowshoes, brass deer, a cast iron base tabletop tree, and a collection of antique sleigh bells.

I had a little more fun on the chest next to the front door where I added more pops of red with thermos, Santa mugs, and my new favorite find, the Campfire Marshmellow tin.
I love seeing all the vintage thrift store finds displayed throughout my home for the holidays! Being surrounded by adorable Santa mugs and vintage Christmas decor makes washing dishes a little more tolerable.
